CAMS are holding a Scrutineering training session at Symmons Plains on Sunday, 5th September. Scrutineers play an essential role in ensuring that vehicles are safe for competition at events. A secondary function is checking that vehicles meet the regulations for the category in which they are competing. Scrutineers are required for all events, from low level motorkhanas through to National and International events such as the V8 Supercars. The course is designed to provide participants with the skills to work alone at lower level events and as part of a scrutineering team at major events. A mechanical background is advantageous but not mandatory.We are looking at getting a few club members together to go, so we have a few more to assist at events. Cost for the course is free and there is no requirement to already hold a CAMS Officials licence. There may be a requirement to do the General Official's online training module, and upon completion of an Event Assessment, you be eligible for a Bronze Scrutineer Licence.Anyone interested in attending the session please let Matt Best know on 0428 578 841 or at
